This role sits within our Finance Applications team and reports directly into our Head of Finance Applications. As part of this role, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of new business or changes to existing business and the resolution of production issues in Oracle eBusiness Suite. You’ll work with the team and the wider business to provide solutions to incidents and to business requirements to ensure continuity of service.
How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?
You will be our functional specialist in the Financials product family of the Oracle eBusiness application and you’ll take on the role of Technical Service Owner for the application. You’ll assess incidents raised against the application and resolve appropriately, including root cause analysis and ensuring that a sustainable solution is implemented to prevent reoccurrence.
We’ll want you to assess project request forms for small change and projects, and engage with the requestor to assess business needs. This includes challenging the justification and offer suitable alternatives if deemed a more cost effective way to solve the problem, and you’ll design and deliver solutions ensuring they are fit for purpose, scalable for future change and are low on maintenance. You’ll proactively look to implement system improvements to provide a better service to the business, you’ll mentor colleagues in the functional operation of the system, and assist in additional applications as necessary including HFM and OBIEE.
What will make you the ideal candidate?
You’ll demonstrate extensive experience implementing new business in at least one full life cycle incorporating Legal Entities, General Ledger and Subledgers. You’ll have extensive knowledge of Financials subledgers and the interaction with General Ledger and external applications. You’ll have experience gathering requirements, managing project requests and have a keen eye for solution design. You’ll also have experience managing incidents, deliver fixes or solutions to the satisfaction of the requestor, and the ability to implement new business end to end.
We’ll want you to have expertise in Oracle Financials subledgers, iExpenses, and an understanding of the technical elements of Oracle EBS including sql, sql*loader and pl/sql. You’ll be well versed in system administration configuration including access control and audit controls, and you’ll have the ability to analyse a problem and arrive at a logical conclusion that can be built into a strategic solution.
