Why is our VP role the next step for you?

Our APAC Team is looking for a Commercial VP Director to lead and coach the Business Development team and Relationship Management team.

Our eCommerce division is booming. With revenue increases of 17% year on year, this business is the engine room of our global strategy. As experts in what we do, we operate across industries that represent the most exciting opportunities for global eCommerce growth – Digital Content, Global Retail, Airlines, Regulated Gambling and Travel – and in doing so we are privileged to partner with many of the world’s most dynamic organisations. Our strategic aim is to drive differentiated value for our customers by increasing their profitability and hence Worldpay’s share of wallet. To achieve this we aim to reach more customers in more markets, in local language and with local payment options.

How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?

You will grow the Japan region revenue by creating and developing new revenue streams and managing existing streams and accountable for overall relationship health, merchant advocacy. You will have both commercial teams (business development) and (relationship management reporting into you. You will act as the ‘face’ of Worldpay in Japan, assisting other teams including Product and Legal (and others) in their work in market. You will contribute to the development of sales processes, tools and capabilities, and enable growth through new licence agreements and promote rule changes to enable growth in new sectors.

By also being responsible for Relationship Management, you will have overall accountability for overall relationship health, merchant advocacy and driving portfolio growth. You will develop a portfolio strategy and structure that supports our growth ambitions in Japan and the region – covering portfolio management of customers, pricing & commercial strategy and product cross sell. You will support the team in collaborating with merchants to drive innovation in Japan and regional Fintech industry, developing our roadmap and growing our market leading value proposition.

What will make you the ideal candidate?

You are a proven sales leader and are experienced in managing, leading and coaching commercial professionals within payments and acquiring industry. You have international experience, and a strong desire to be successful.

You will have notable knowledge of the global payments landscape with a specific understanding of the complexities of local APAC requirements and regulations.

Act as a thought leader to shape the future of our business and customer proposition.

You are forward thinking, and a passionate team player, seamlessly collaborating with customers and internal teams to build better solutions. It would be beneficial to have Mandarin language skills, however this is not mandatory. You are fluent in both Japanese and English.
