As a member of this team, you’ll assist with technical security assessments to identify vulnerabilities, misconfigurations and weaknesses that may lead to unauthorised access of IT systems, applications and data contained within the corporate network. The main area of focus will be to optimise our Threat & Vulnerability Management (TVM) capabilities or programs to reduce the risk of cyber- attacks and breaches.
How will you add value on a day-to-day basis?
In this role, you’ll develop skills to become a subject matter expert for all areas of vulnerability management. You will act as a change agent within the department, continually implementing industry standards and best practices from the perspective of effectively managing vulnerabilities and exposures. You’ll be tuning vulnerability scanning tools, utilising dashboards and reports to understand current vulnerability landscape, and use analytical skills to identify root cause and patterns.
You’ll use the information generated by our scanning tools to assist in driving awareness and change to stakeholders as well as providing guidance for operations staff in addressing exposures. You’ll resolve issues and bridge gaps related to operations, as well as run reports to prioritise and assign remediation requests and oversee remediation process. We want to accomplish real-time security vulnerability management to identify and prioritise vulnerabilities.
What will make you the ideal candidate?
You’ll have a couple of years’ security experience and knowledge of industry standards relating to vulnerability management including Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) and Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP).
Great stakeholder management and communication skills are key to the success in this role. You’ll have excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills, as well as the ability to work with and analyse large data sets and deliver meaningful reports. You’ll have an understanding of information security frameworks, security operations, standard IT processes and challenges. It’s advantageous if you have experience with Qualys Cloud Platform, including Compliance, WAS and VM modules, OS experience including Windows/ Redhat/ VDI and networking knowledge.
